One of the 68 Avro 504Ks imported in in 1920 was named Toubao. It made a proving flight on the first section of a planned air route to Shanghai on 23 April 1920. New Zealander William Mackenzie, who flew the aircraft, was forced to land with engine trouble before reaching Tianjin. (Artwork by Jean-Pierre Baraton)
