As of May and June 1948, the majority of AT-6s, T-6s and SNJs acquired by the SyAAF before the Palestine War seem to have been painted in BS381C/362 Mid-Stone and BS381C/226 Brunswick Green on upper surfaces and sides, with undersurfaces in BS381C/697 Light Admiralty Grey or a similar colour. The patterns in Brunswick Green differed from aircraft to aircraft, as did the size of roundels (applied in six positions) and fin flashes. Spinners – and sometimes wingtips – were usually painted in Dark Green, as in this case on serial number 205, but often left in Light Grey or bare metal. Most Syrian Texans/Harvards did not have any forward-firing machine guns, and this one did not have any installed in the rear cockpit, although the pintle was in its place. The aircraft is shown armed with a German-made SC100 bomb installed under the wing. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
