The other common strike aircraft of the UARAF was the Su-7BMK, like aircraft 7340 shown here with FZAB-500M-54 high-explosive/ incendiary bombs and centreline drop tank. It was among those delivered by the USSR in the later stages of the War of Attrition after which the Egyptians added the rearview mirror atop the canopy. The Sukhois soon became the principal fighter-bomber in Egyptian and Syrian inventories, though still falling short of the capabilities present in Israel. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
