Hurricane Mk ilb BD707 was delivered to the RAF around July 194 1. By then, the squadron was flying regular fighter sweeps and Ramrods across France, and later that yearbegan to use its Hurricanes in the fighter bomber role carrying a poir of 250lb (113kg) bombs against targets on the continent.
