Tornado GR 1 ZD748 of No. 9 Sqn, Tabuk AB,
Saudi Arabia, February 1991 - Nine ALARM-capable aircraft were deployed to Tabuk to provide SEAD support for wing operations. This aircraft, supplied by No. 9 Sqn based at Brüggen, in Germany, is loaded with three ALARM on the shoulder pylons. Self-protection armament included AIM-9Ls on the wing inner stub pylons and a Skyshadow ECM pod (shown) and BOZ-107 chaff and flare dispenser on the outer wing pylons (port and starboard, respectively). Featuring a mission tally that includes eight ALARM silhouettes beneath its windscreen and a shark ’s mouth (a trademark marking seen on many Tabuk Wing Tornado GR 1s), ZD748 also boasts striking Anola Kay! nose art applied by Paul Bellis, one of the servicing crew at Tabuk.
