Two Augusta-Bell AB 206 Jet Rangers were the first helicopters acquired by Abu Dhabi for its Air Wing in the early 1970s. While there are reports that at least one received a camouflage pattern in the form of dark green or dark brown atop the overall yellow-sand, all colour photographs show them painted in yellow sand only. National insignia and service titles were applied at the rear of the fuselage. All Jet Rangers were transferred to the UDF in around 1973, and operated from Dubai airport. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
