The IAF’s Phantom fleet continued to expand given American willingness to supply the jets in the face of persistent ceasefire violations by Israel’s adversaries and expansion of their armed forces. This 119 Squadron machine shows a typical loadout for a patrol, benefiting from the aircraft’s outstanding radar, armed with superior AIM-9D and AIM-7E air-to-air missiles.
