A modernised BMP-2M in service with the 6th Separate Motorised Rifle Cossack Regiment, mid-2022. Some LPR units received modernised equipment as the ‘special military operation’ got underway. The BMP-2M was a modernised version of the BMP-2. In addition to the 2A42 30mm cannon, an AG-17 30mm automatic grenade launcher is mounted on top of the turret.
