A Caproni Ca.310 Libeccio light bomber from the 12 Escuadrilla, XI Escuadrón de Bombardeo, during the 1941 campaign. A total of 16 aircraft were ordered by the CAP in 1938 and suffered a high attrition rate, the highest of the period, with not less than four aircraft lost in accidents by December 1940. The Libeccios saw first-line service with the CAP until December 1943, when they were allocated to training duties. Like most of the CAP fleet, they were painted in silver dope overall, but many had their engine cowlings painted in vivid colours, for easier recognition. Inset is shown detail of an example from the XXI Escuadrón. (Artwork by Luca Canossa)
