Iran acquired 150 M48A5 Patton II MBTs, all equipped with the British-made 105mm guns, during the 1970s. Most of these went into the battle still painted in olive drab overall. However, many received disruptive camouflage patterns applied in medium green. This is a reconstruction prepared on basis of several photographs of different vehicles from the mid-1980s.
