Like other tactical combat aircraft of the USN, most A-7Es were painted in the TPS, consisting of Dark Ghost Gray (FS36320) on upper surfaces and sides, over Light Ghost Gray (FS36375) on undersurfaces. Due to the high tempo of operations in January and February 1986, most aircraft began showing rather well-worn colours, often touched up by quick bursts of spray paint to prevent corrosion. Wearing the markings of VA-83 ‘Rampagers’, this example is illustrated armed with an AGM-88A HARM and an AIM-9L Sidewinder. (Tom Cooper)
