The EAF acquired 6 MiG-15UTIs within frame of the first Czech Arms Deal (i.e. Operation 105). All were left in so-called ‘aluminium grey’ colour which actually consisted of 5% aluminium powder mixed with clear lacquer, and was applied atop a coat of varnish. Roundels were applied in six positions, and all aircraft received wide ‘walkways’ along wingroots, applied in dark grey. Known serials of these early Egyptian MiG-15UTIs were 1900, 1901, 1995 (shown here), 1997, 1998, and 1999 - at least four of which are known to have survived the Suez War (1901 is nowadays on display at the EAF Museum in Almaza).
