In 1956–1957, Czechoslovakia arranged the delivery of 50 SU-100 tank destroyers to the Imamate of Yemen. These were manufactured by the Ural 14.5 Machine Building Works (Sverdlovsk), and the Omsk State Factory No. 174, in the USSR, between 1944 and 1948, or – under licence – by ČKD Sokolovo in Prague and Závody J. V. Stalina in Martin, in Czechoslovakia, from 1953 to 1957. Miraculously, several Yemeni SU-100s remained in service for more than 60 years to participate in the Yemeni Civil War fought from 2014 until 2022. (Artwork by David Bocquelet)
