Israel’s 14 Super Frelon heavy-lift helicopters were vital assets given their turbine engines and capacious interior accessed by a loading ramp. Aircraft 02, from 114 Squadron, is representative of the period with a post-1968 paint scheme, sand filters over the engine inlets above the flight deck, and lacking the pontoons on the main gear struts. Unseen is the rescue hoist over the starboard side door. It also has the nose side antennae for the Sarah radio beacon location system to find downed aircrew with their survival radios.
