Combining the reliability and range of a truck with the firepower of a tank, the BA-series of armoured cars was an important part of the Soviet motormechanised brigades. Usually painted in olive green, the BA-10s of Soviet units deployed in the Khalkhin Gol area wore either no markings, or a bare minimum. They were replaced in the scouting role by light tanks during the Second World War. (Artwork by David Bocquelet)
