Flakzwilling 40/2
Code named ‘Innsbruck’, the twin‑barrelled 128mm Flakzwilling was one of the best, largest and most effective heavy flak weapons of the war. Compared to the standard 88mm flak gun, the 128mm’s powder charge was four times as large, reducing shell flight time by two‑thirds. This in turn meant that gunners could engage fast‑moving targets more effectively. Crewed by up to 12 men (usually the best gunners in the Jagdwaffe), the Flakzwilling 40/2 had a rate of fire of 24 rounds per minute.
