The Sakamoto 6 was built in Japan in 1915 and after a crash and repairs, it was sent to China to assist the Chinese Revolution. It was powered by an 80hp Curtiss OX. Sun Yat-sen had established the Chinese Revolutionary Party Flying School in Japan and in June 1916 it was transferred with students and aircraft to Weixian in Shandong Province.
