GBU-24A/B PAVEWAY III - LGBs came of age during Desert Storm, with the 2,000lb GBU-24A/B Paveway III fitted with a BLU-109 Penetrator warhead as seen here proving effective against KARI IADS command and control bunkers. Built by Raytheon and introduced into service from 1983, the GBU-24A/B consisted of a seeker package attached to the nose of the 2,000lb bomb and a wing kit attached to the rear of the weapon for stability and enhanced range. Only a small number of GBU 24A/Bs were dropped (from F-111Fs) due to the expensive nature of their guidance kits.
