The North American P-51H Mustang was the final single-engined production variant of the legendary Mustang family. Manufactured from 1945 onwards, it received a more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, improved aerodynamics, and increased speed. This P-51H served with the 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group, home-based at Selfridge Field, Harrison Township, Michigan, in 1947. (Artwork by Jean-Marie Guillou)
