Abu Dhabi placed an order for three Aerospatiale SA.330C Pumas to supplement Jet Rangers of the Helicopter Flight in 1972. The camouflage scheme of the Pumas in the UAE is uncertain but when they left France they had all received a wraparound camouflage pattern consisting of Brun Café (light sand) and Brun Noisette (dark earth) colours. All inscriptions – including the service title and serial in English, on one side of the roundel, and the same but in Arabic, on the other – were in black. The sole exception was the warning insignia on the fin, applied in white. The ADAF’s Pumas received tinted cockpit and cabin windows. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
