Left to their own devices, the mercenaries of the Slavonic Corps deployed in Syria in 2013 were forced to improvise. Amongst others, they acquired a number of Chevrolet Silverado pick-ups and fi tted these with a pedestal for a light machine gun, and had their engine, front of the cabin, and the sides protected by simple (and rusty) steel plates.
