The first two Britten-Norman BN-2 Islanders of the ADAF wore a livery consisting of beige (BS381C/388) overall, with undersurfaces in light admiralty grey (BS381C/697). Applied in black, their service titles were distributed as shown inset in the upper left corner, on the nose and the rear fuselage – before being ‘grouped’ around the roundel in the 1971-1972 period. By the mid-1970s, the aircraft had received a camouflage pattern consisting of dark brown (BS381C/411) atop of beige, while undersurfaces were painted in aircraft blue (BS381C/108) or cobalt blue (BS381C/115). Except for early during their service, fin-flashes were always worn, and roundels were applied in six positions. (Artwork by Tom Cooper).
