Ilyushin II-38 May IN301 C/N 81011007 INAS 315, Indian Navy Dabolim Air Station, Goa, India
The first of seven II-38s for the Indian Navy, IN301 was built in 1970 and operated by the Soviet Navy (AVMF) until transferred to India in 1977 along with two others. Another pair arrived in 1983, and two more in 2008, these latter aircraft replacing two lost in a collision. 1N301 was upgraded in Russia to II-38SD standard with the Sea Dragon avionic suite in the 2003-2006 timeframe and later received further modifications including IAI-Elta surface search radar. The II-38 fleet was retired on 31 October 2023, by which time IN 301 had already been preserved at Dabolim.
