Allocated US Navy Bureau No 161370, this Orion was delivered to the Royal Netherlands Navy's paritime patrol force (MARPAT) as ‘302’ in April 1982, being equipped to P-3C-II 1/2 standard. Based at Valkenburg, but occasionally detached to the Netherlands Antilles Itwas one of ten that went through the Capability Upkeep Program (CUP) from 1999, but eight of which were then sold to Germany when the Dutch announced the disbandment of their P-3 fleet in 2006, It was then operated by Marinefliegergeschwader 3 (MFG3), based at Nordholz, As 60+02. Scheduled to be the prototype for an avionics upgrade and allocated to test unit WTD-61, it was last noted dismantled at Manching.
