No. unknown VPB-108, FAW-1 Naha, Okinawa, 1946 - This Privateer wears no visible Bureau Number, but its code matches the ‘last three’ of B4Y-2 59796, which was delivered to VPB-197 on 11 May 1945. Ina short time period it was transferred to VPB-200, VPB-118, VPB-124 and then to VPB-108 in December 1945, serving with them at Naha, Okinawa until October 1946. It spent most of 1946 In the care of several headquarters and fleet service squadrons, before joining the Privateer poo! at INAS Corpus Christi, Texas. Its last assignment was with the Tactical Test Squadron at NAS Patxuent River, Maryland and it was finally stricken at the Naval Ordnance Test Squadron at Chincoteague, Virginia.
