A reconstruction of a Polish-made Iraqi T-55. The vehicle was equipped with the typical Polish-made storage box on the turret side and a dozer blade and infrared searchlight. The camouflage pattern consisted of the usual yellow sand and blue-green. Iraq purchased several hundred such tanks during the war with Iran, initially because of Soviet refusals to resupply Baghdad, and later because the Soviets were unable to deliver the number of tanks demanded by Iraq. Reportedly, the Iraqis found Polish-built tanks slightly better than those made in the USSR, but not as good as those made in Czechoslovakia. (Artwork by Radek Panchartek)
