Some of about 300 M113A1s and M113A2s, originally acquired by Iran from the USA in the 1970s, were converted through the addition of a mast for BGM-71 TOW ATGMs, for anti-armour purposes, during the war with Iraq and officially redesignated as M150. As the inscription on its hull side indicates, this vehicle was subsequently assigned to the 201st A’emeh Anti-Armour Unit. This was a dedicated anti-armour outfit of the IRGC, comprising Army equipment handed over to the Pasdaran. Established in 1983, it was expanded to a full brigade by 1987.
