Intensive service use and weathering conspired to literally disintegrate the camouflage pattern of most Iraqi vehicles within weeks of the start of the war with Iran. This OT-62 survived long enough to receive a small splotch of blue-green on which the hull number (‘122’) was applied. The rear deck was usually crammed with the personal belongings of the crew – though sometimes, as illustrated here, it was used to carry additional fuel cells taken from T-54 or T-55 MBTs.
