The Cessna T.210 with registration Z-YLT, was used for ‘rainmaking’ with help of a hole in the fuselage through which nitrate crystals were fired into heavy clouds. Ian Steel, who was called up towards the end of the PRAW, flew it for a week at a time, for up to 35 hours. The aircraft continued serving as Z-YLT, while Ian Steel served as police pilot in the Zimbabwe Republic Police until 1984. (Artwork by Leon Manoucherians)
