Once initial problems were resolved, the CL-44 proved highly efficient and dependable in service. Between others, it held the world record for its class by flying 10,860km (6,750nm) from Tokyo to RCAF Station Trenton, in Ontario, in 17 hours and 3 minutes, at an average speed of 640km/h (400mph). Another Yukon later remained airborne for 23 hours and 51 minutes (both records were bettered only by the Boeing 747, over a decade later). The second Yukon leased by Aerotransportes Entre Rios, wore the registration LV-JYR. It arrived in Argentina in November 1971, wearing the livery shown here: with RCAF markings removed, but still retaining some traces of them, including the two red cheat lines down the fuselage.
