Miles Master M.19 Mk. II (REAF, Flying Training School, 1946). On this ex-RAF machine, nothing has changed except the replacement of RAF national marking with REAF national markings, though the fuselage roundel is still outlined in yellow. The Miles Masters that were eventually transferred to the Egyptians had previously been set aside for the Turks, and almost certainly had RAF Temperate Land brown and dark green upper surface camouflage with trainer yellow underneath. The black RAF serial number DL978 remains on the rear fuselage and in much larger lettering beneath the wings. However, there is evidence that these aeroplanes were given individual code letters in the REAF. Their wooden construction also proved to be very unsuitable in Egypt hot and extremely dry climate.
