The principal APC of the Iraqi armoured and mechanised formations early in the war with Iran was the OT-62, a Czechoslovak-manufactured BTR-50 variant. Although seldom armed, the type proved reliable and quite popular in service. It could carry up to 20 fully armed troops and had amphibious capabilities. While a few examples were left in the olive-green colour applied before delivery, most were camouflaged in standard colours consisting of yellow sand and blue-green. (Artwork by Radek Panchartek)
