A total of six DH.104 Doves served as light transports with the RCyAF and then the SLAAF, from 1955 until 1982. All wore civilian-style livery consisting of white on the top of the cabin and fin, a red cheat line and silver-grey on bottom fuselage and the wing. Large title ‘Sri Lanka Air Force’ was always applied in black, in English on the port side of the cabin roof, and in Sinhalese on the starboard side, while serials were applied in the usual position above the fin flash. As far as is known, for most of their careers, Sri Lankan Doves had the roundels applied on the top surface of the left, and bottom surface of the right wing. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
