Caproni Ca.111 serial 105-3 was one of the survivors of the 12 Caproni Ca.111 bombers purchased in 1934. Originally fitted with floats and powered by Isotta Fraschini 750R engines, they were overhauled and fitted with the slightly more powerful – but more reliable ‑ I.F. XI RC.40 Asso 940hp engine in 1938. With the arrival of the Caproni Ca.135 and Ca.310, the Ca.111 was relegated to transport duties. (Artwork by Luca Canossa)
