The Peruvian Air Corps ordered ten Curtiss model 37F observation and light attack biplanes in 1934. This model, fitted with a Wright R-1820F Cyclone radial engine, was known as the “Cyclone” or “Export” Falcon and had a long operational life with Peruvian military aviation, being much appreciated by their crews thanks to its ease of maintenance and sturdiness. XXXII-82-3 was a “Cyclone Falcon” assigned to the command of the XXXII Escuadrón de Información Marítima and was deployed to Puerto Pizarro forward seaplane base during the conflict.
