If there was any benefit from the Cantu Crisis, then it was that the Military Aviation Service inherited at least three Curtiss JN-4 Jennies that Cantu had bought from the civilian market in the United States. While the contemporary media labelled them as ‘bombers’, this example – serial number 1-C-73 – was used at the Military Aviation School as trainer and in some cases as observation aircraft.
