The EE-9 Cascavel (Portuguese for ‘Rattlesnake’) is a six-wheeled armoured car of Brazilian origin, 364 of which were acquired by Iraq in the 1980s. At least a company worth of EE-9s was donated to the NLA, and deployed during its advance into Iran in July 1988. Atop the sand as primary colour, some received disruptive camouflage patterns in light green, and others in dark green. Most NLA vehicles had the crest of the MEK/MKO applied – either on the sides of the forward fuselage, or on the turret side. (Artwork by Peter Penev)
