Two Ansaldo S.V.A.5 saw service in the Government Air Arm. They participated in dogfights and light bombing, and strafing missions against the rebels. They both had a single fixed .303 Vickers machine gun for the pilot and could carry up to 100 kilos of bombs in racks on the side of the fuselage. The Paraguayan roundel was painted in the four wing positions and also in the fuselage right after the bomb racks, and the colors of the flag in the rudder. (Artwork by J.P. Vieira)
