The ZPU-2 was the twin-barrel variant of the Soviet zenitnaya pulemotnaya ustanovka series of anti-aircraft machinegun mounts. Used extensively by communist forces during the Korean War, the ZPU-2 could fire 14.5mm high explosive/incendiary-tracer (HEI-T) or armour-piercing incendiary (API) rounds at a rate of 1,200 rounds per minute. Its 1,400 metres effective anti-aircraft range was more than doubled by its 3,000 metres reach against ground targets. (Artwork by David Bocquelet)
