An S−211 of the 5th Fighter Wing fitted with a Aerotech Industries Philippines, Inc. designed 12.7mm machinegun pod under the centerline and a seven round 70mm rocket pod under each wing. With the retirement of the F−5s the handful of operational S−211s served as the only jet “fighters” in the PhAF until the Year 2015. They were equipped with radios and gun−sights taken from F−5s, and dubbed ‘AS−211s’. Despite their air superiority camouflage the S−211s have been heavily deployed to provide CAS in operations against the BIFF.
