Four Austrian-made Lohner Pfeilfliegers were deployed to Tetuán in 1913, conducting the first reconnaissance flight of the Spanish aviation. They were also used by captains Barrón and Cifuentes on 17 Dec 1913 for the first ever attack made using an optical device to aim bombs. All were originally painted in silver-dope overall and wore no markings or insignia: the Spanish flag was applied on the ruder during the First World War. Specifications: 130 km/h; power to weight ratio 0.08 (67.5Kw engine, 879Kg loaded weight); ceiling 2,700m; range 300KM. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
