Egypt acquired up to 50, perhaps 51 de Havilland Canada Chipmunk basic trainers in the mid-1950s. All were painted in high-speed silver, but also received a yellow ‘trainer band’ around the rear fuselage. The last two of their serial number (1630 in this case) was usually applied on the same band. As far as is known, none carried any of typical black and white identification stripes.
