This ex-RAF Avro Anson Mk XI, previously MG966, had originally been built as a Mk X, but was upgraded and acquired by Airwork for the British Training Mission in Saudi Arabia. It was painted in overall high-speed silver finish, except for bare metal engine cowlings and nacelles, yet it did not receive an anti-glare panel in black in front of the windscreen. The registration G-AIXY, applied in black, was repeated underneath the wings. Following years of harsh service, it was scrapped on 13 December 1949. (Artwork by Peter Penev)
