Humber armoured car. One source gives the number of Humbers in French service in Indochina (1946–1949) at 41. From February 1946, the Humbers – another British AV put into service by the 5e RC – were used by all three of the regiment’s squadrons (plus one other ‘rankless’ squadron or ‘escadron hors-rang’). The number of squadrons grew to eight after the 1er RCC was sent to Tonkin in August 1946 and after the disbandment of the Groupement Blindé du Cambodge. (Artwork by David Bocquelet)
