The Cessna O-2A received the nickname ‘Martillo’ in service with the FAS. This example – FAS serial number 613 – had the construction number 337M-0395 (former US Air Force serial number 68-11170): it was delivered to El Salvador in October 1984, and assigned to the Gurpo Caza y Bombardero, FAS. It was foremost flown by Captain Salvador Palacios and by 1991, received the corresponding cartoon – a condor with the aircraft designation O-2A and pilot’s family name – on the left forward fuselage.
