At least two, possibly more of the early Nicaraguan Mi-17s arrived wearing this camouflage in beige and dark earth (BS381C/350) or dark brown (BS381C/411) on upper surfaces and sides, and light admiralty grey (BS381C/697) on undersurfaces. As on Mi-8Ts, national markings consisted of a big roundel on the rear of the cabin, and a fin flash. Serial numbers were applied in black on the armour plate below the cockpit and the bottom of the fin: note that several of the early Mi-17s had received the serials of Mi-8Ts written off early after arrival in Nicaragua. Usual armament consisted of either two or four UB-32-57 rocket pods and up to two UPK-23 gun pods. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
