The six SF.260Ws donated to Nicaragua by Libya are known to have retained their original camouflage pattern consisting of light sand, dark beige and olive green on upper surfaces and sides, and light admiralty grey on undersurfaces. Most seem to have had their wing-tip fuel tanks painted in white. Libyan SF.260s used to wear national markings in the form of green roundels in six positions, and a ‘fin flash’ in green: while their roundels were overpainted or removed without replacement, the Nicaraguans added their own serials (apparently with a ‘shadow’ in red) and their tricolore on the fin. This example is shown equipped with an additional drop tank on the underwing hardpoint. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
