In 1980, Nicaragua acquired two UH-1Cs from private sources in the USA. Both received a camouflage pattern in tan and dark green (and had their undersurfaces pained in light grey), applied directly over their original olive drab overall. Both were soon out of service: one crashed under unknown circumstances, while the other had to be abandoned for the lack of spares. Nevertheless, they are known to have received at least a fin flash and the service title in black on the boom. The sole known serial number is shown here: 260. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
