Starting in 1968, new camouflage colours used by the RRAF were extended to the Vampire T.Mk 11 fleet of No. 2 Squadron. As usual for that period, they consisted of dark earth and dark green on top surfaces and sides, and sky S on undersurfaces. Previously applied on the booms, all serials and fin flashes were removed: merely emergency stencils related to the ejection seats remained in their place. In addition to four 30mm ADEN cannons installed internally, typical armament consisted of four 80mm Hispano Suisa HS.80 Sura rockets installed on four underwing launch rails inboard of the booms. Alternatively, bombs of up to 250kg (500lbs) could be installed on underwing adapters instead of the usual drop tanks (not shown on this illustration). (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
