This is a reconstruction of the Su-22M-4 serial number 3224, flown by Major Ali Fahed from No. 677 Squadron, SyAAF, shot down by a USN F/A-18E Super Hornet on 18 June 2017. The aircraft was one of about a dozen locally overhauled examples, and thus painted in a genuine pattern consisting of beige (BS381C/388), dark earth (BS381C/350), and green (similar to FS34098) on upper surfaces and sides, and a dark ‘version’ of light admiralty grey on undersurfaces. The aircraft is shown as configured during its final mission: with a total of four FAB-250-270 bombs and 1,300-litre drop tanks. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
